Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is an experience oriented course designed to give you practical experience in a number of specialty diving areas. Unlike the Open Water Course, the Advanced Course involves little written testing and very little academic preparation. You will begin by reading the requisite academic materials at home on your own time.  The material will then be reviewed with your instructor prior to your water training sessions. The objective of the course is to give you as much in water time as possible in which to perfect your diving skills.

Dive Requirements;

Advanced certification requires a minimum of five dives to be done in as few as two days. If you have Instructor signed documentation of Advanced Level dives, we will credit you with the dives completed. You may not need all five dives to obtain the Advanced Certification.

Day One will be shore diving while Day Two will be conducted aboard one of our Puget Sound boat diving excursions.

PADI Full Rescue Diver Course

The Scuba Schools Rescue Diver Course gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of diving and increase your level of diving skill. It makes you more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment. The course is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for you to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations and render proper first aid. This class is one of the most fun classes that we teach, and every diver should take it.

Our Rescue classes are about making you a safer, more confident diver, able to use whatever tools you have available to you in an emergency to positively affect the situation.

Rescue Diver certification is also an important prerequisite for the Divemaster rating, the first professional diver rating, and the distinguished Master Scuba Diver rating, the highest nonprofessional rating in scuba diving.

Must be Advanced Open Water certified in order to participate in the PADI Full Rescue Diver Course.

Current certification in CPR/First Aid is also required for participation in the program.  If you are not certified in CPR/First Aid, we can include an Emergency First Response program in the Rescue Diver Course for you.

CPR/First Aid certification tuition would be $65 over and above the standard Rescue Diver fees. The CPR Student Kit would be $39

NAUI Basic Scuba Rescue Course

The NAUI Basic Scuba Rescue Course is designed for beginner divers and does not require Advanced certification. This class encompasses the first half of the PADI Full Rescue class and does not include dealing with some of the more complex issues that can arise.

In this class you will learn how to deal with the most common surface issues that occur, including how to identify problems early before they become emergencies. You will also practice dealing with some of the more serious issues that might be encountered, all within the context of the skills a beginner diver would have.

After completing your Advanced class you can come back and do an upgrade to the PADI Full Rescue Diver course any weekend that class is offered for a fee of $150. The book used in both classes is the same, with not all material covered in the basic rescue.

Current certification in CPR/First Aid is also required for completion of this class.  If you are not certified in CPR/First Aid, we can include an Emergency First Response program in the Rescue Diver Course for you.
